GAMETRACKERS MERGES WITH MANKWE SAFARIS

Gametrackers Outdoor Adventures, the Sun City and Pilanesberg National Park based adventure and tourism activities business of Tourvest’s Accommodation and Activities (TAA) division, has merged with Mankwe Safari and Heritage Tours in a move designed to consolidate Tourvest’s presence in the North West Province.

The expanded operation, which will trade as Mankwe Gametrackers, will now also offer tours and transfers in addition to its traditional offering of adventure and tourism activities. These include hot air balloon safaris, game drives and game walks in the Pilanesberg National Park and elephant back safaris and elephant interactions, quad biking, clay target shooting, archery, paintball, interactive drumming and teambuilding exercises at Sun City Resort.

Mankwe Gametrackers chief executive Gavin Reynolds says the merger has brought together two long-established businesses in the area with complementary services and that the combined enterprise will serve to strengthen Tourvest’s footprint in the North West Province while providing patrons of Sun City and surrounding lodges, including Pilanesberg National Parks’ Manyane and Bakgatla Resorts with a fully inclusive tours, transfers and outdoor adventure activities service.

TAA chief executive Gary Elmes adds that Tourvest is pleased to be able to retain Mankwe founder Bernard Marobe as an executive of the merged entity. “Bernard is highly respected in the tourism industry and brings with him a wealth of experience, particularly in the North West Province,” Elmes says.
